GOD, THE BIBLE AND MURDER
The taking of a human life is a grave and mortal sin. No human has the
prerogative to kill a human's life but God.
Satan is the author of murder.
John 8:44 Ye are of your
father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a
murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is
no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a
liar, and the father of it.
Murder is a
heinous sin before God.
Genesis 9:6 Whoso sheds man's
blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.
Exodus 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.
Deuteronomy 5:17 Thou shalt not
kill.
1 Timothy 1:9--Knowing this, that
the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and
disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for
murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
Numbers 35:16--And if he smite him
with an instrument of iron, so that he die, he is a murderer: the
murderer shall surely be put to death. 17 And if he smite him
with throwing a stone, wherewith he may die, and he die, he is a
murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death. 18 Or if he smite
him with an hand weapon of wood, wherewith he may die, and he die, he is
a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.
Isaiah 26:2--For, behold, the LORD
cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their
iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover
her slain.
Proverbs 6:16-17These six
things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto
him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
Isaiah 1:15--And when ye spread
forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make
many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
Isaiah 59:2-3--But your
iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have
hid his face from you, that he will not hear. For your hands
are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have
spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
Romans 13:9--For this, Thou shalt
not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt
not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any
other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou
shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Matthew 5:21-22--Ye have heard that
it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall
kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That
whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of
the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in
danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in
danger of hell fire.
Matthew 15:19--For out of the
heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts,
false witness, blasphemies:
1 John 3:15--Whosoever hates his
brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life
abiding in him.
Galatians 5:21--Envyings, murders,
drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as
I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things
shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
